Motion of the Council of Allegheny County postponing the required quarterly appearance of the Chief Executive at a regular meeting of Council to January 4, 2010, in accordance with the provisions of §5-307.08.D. of the Administrative Code of Allegheny County.

Whereas, on September 22, 2009, Allegheny County Council amended the provisions of §5-307.08.D. of the Administrative Code of Allegheny County, governing the periodic appearance of the Chief Executive at regular meetings of Council; and
Whereas, pursuant to the amendment, the Chief Executive is required to attend one regular meeting of Council in each of the months of March, June, September and December, with extensions of up to thirty (30) days permissible if requested in writing by the Executive and granted by a motion approved by a majority of the seated Members of Council; and
Whereas, although the Chief Executive had been scheduled to appear at the December 15, 2009 regular meeting, he has provided written notice that he will be unavailable on that date; and
Whereas, it is the judgment of Council that rescheduling the Chief Executive's appearance for the January 4, 2010 regular meeting is appropriate;
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY, that in accordance with §5-307.08.D. of the Administrative Code, the Chief Executive's appearance before Council scheduled for December 15, 2009 is hereby rescheduled for January 4, 2010.
