Proclamation celebrating the 60^th anniversary of Whitehall United Presbyterian Church.

Body

WHEREAS, for the past 60 years, Whitehall United Presbyterian Church has been serving people of faith in the Borough of Whitehall, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the church was originally conceived on September 12, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Whitehall United Presbyterian has seen many ups and downs throughout the past 60 years, but has remained an important part of Whitehall; and

WHEREAS, in recent years, the church has changed its focus to evangelism in order to attract new members in an ever-changing society; and

WHEREAS, throughout the past several years, church members and leaders have also reached out to the community with initiatives that have included a clothing drive and a program to teach English to refugees; and

WHEREAS, under the current leadership of Pastor Lloyd Sewdin, Whitehall United Presbyterian Church continues to serve people of faith throughout the Borough of Whitehall;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council joins with Whitehall United Presbyterian Church in celebrating your 60^th anniversary.  Furthermore, we wish you continued success throughout your next 60 years of faith and service.
