Proclamation celebrating the 10th anniversary of the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, throughout the past decade, the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania (AACCWP) has provided access and opportunity to more than 475 African-American business owners and professionals throughout our region; and
WHEREAS, the AACCWP also counts other minority groups, over 60 nonprofit organizations, and more than 50 majority businesses as members; and
WHEREAS, programs offered by the AACCWP include Advances in Health Care, the Ask the Expert Forum, a Business Institute, the Strengthening Your Business Acumen program, the Candidates Forum, as well as programs that emphasize how to do business with major companies, authorities, and organizations; and
WHEREAS, under the current leadership of President Doris Carson Williams, the AACCWP has remained true to its mission of promoting access and business opportunities for African American business owners and professionals throughout the Western Pennsylvania region; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council joins with the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania in celebrating your 10th anniversary. We wholeheartedly thank you for your many contributions to our region and wish you continued success in the future.
