Proclamation recognizing the Allegheny County Controller's Office for earning the AIIM Best Practices Award.

WHEREAS, the Allegheny County Controller's office recently earned the distinguished honor of being awarded with the Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award from the Association for Information and Image Management; and
WHEREAS, the Carl E. Nelson award recognizes distinction in the enterprise content management field, with a focus on excellence in an organization that involves a process or implementation that can be quantified, adapted and repeated; and
WHEREAS, the Allegheny County Controller's office earned this award as a result of the implementation of new IMR-developed software that allowed for the automation of constable and election poll worker payments during the recent primary elections; and
WHEREAS, prior to the implementation of the new software, the county had to manually process poll worker and constable payment forms for more than 8,000 workers within a 72-hour time period; and
WHEREAS, the new IMR system cut the amount of time that it took to enter the data by one-third and reduced labor costs by an astonishing 85 percent, much to the benefit of the residents of Allegheny County;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council congratulates the Allegheny County Controller's Office for earning the well-deserved honor of the Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award. Your commitment to providing the residents of Allegheny County with more efficient and cost-effect practices is commendable.
