Proclamation celebrating the retirement of Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church's Reverend and Mrs. Delano R. Paige.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed to have leaders from every sector who dedicate their lives to improving the plights of those they serve; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend Delano R. Paige, along with his wife, Laura, has been proudly serving the Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church since 1984; and
WHEREAS, during the Paige's 24-year tenure, the church has tripled in its membership and ministry and continues to grow rapidly with each new year; and
WHEREAS, a multitude of ministries serving various groups have been instated under Pastor Paige's guidance, including The Evangelism Ministry, The Media Ministry, Naomi's Transitional Housing, Inc., The Other Victim Ministry, The Prison Ministry, The Women of Power and Purpose Ministry, Rodman's After School Program (RASP) and The Unity Ministry, among many others; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Paige's influence has encouraged many men and women to pursue careers in the Pastorate, with twenty-one sons and daughters pastoring, including one who served in the Chaplaincy of the United States Navy and one who served in the Chaplaincy of the Police Force;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council hereby congratulates the Reverend and Mrs. Delano R. Paige upon the momentous occasion of their retirement from service to the Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church. Your commitment to supporting the moral and spiritual development of Allegheny County residents is an inspiration to the members of this Council and to all the residents of Allegheny County.
