WHEREAS, 2007 marks the 101^st Anniversary Celebration of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church located in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, on July 26-27, 2007, the St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church will hold its Annual Parish Festival where friends and family of the parish as well as the community will gather together to promote the Ukrainian culture, its history, and its people; and

WHEREAS, to celebrate the Church's 101-year milestone, the Annual Festival will include a parade, a performance by Johnny Angel and the Halo's, not to mention the ethnic foods, religious items, games, and Ukrainian collectibles; and

                     WHEREAS, Allegheny County is fortunate to have organizations, such as St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which strive to preserve the great historical record of the Ukrainian people;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby join in celebrating the 101^st Anniversary of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church.  We are pleased to recognize the rich heritage of the Ukrainian people and wish St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its parish many blessings upon this momentous occasion.
