Proclamation recognizing the Baldwin-Whitehall High School Marching Band for their participation in the nationally broadcast Macy's Day Parade in New York City this Thanksgiving.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Baldwin-Whitehall High School Marching Band is the sixth time Champion of the Tournament of Bands, holding this title from 2000 through 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, in 2005, the band thrilled audiences at the Toyota Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida.  They were the last band to play at Three Rivers Stadium and the first band to play at Heinz Field for the Pittsburgh Steelers; and

 

WHEREAS, this Thanksgiving, the Baldwin-Whitehall High School Marching Band will perform in the nationally recognized Macy's Day Parade in New York City, joining bands from across the nation, including college bands; and  

 

WHEREAS, the Baldwin-Whitehall High School Marching Band is the official and only representative for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and they have the distinction of being one out of ten bands chosen to perform at the Macy's Day Parade;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the Baldwin-Whitehall High School Marching Band for their nomination to perform in the Macy's Day Parade and we recognize their many accomplishments which serves as an inspiration to the residents of Allegheny County.
