Proclamation celebrating the August 25, 2006 Royal Tribe Music's "2006 Arts Alliance Conference" which promotes quality arts education and empowers youth to seek higher education.

WHEREAS, the Royal Tribe Music organization is holding a multifaceted 2006 National Youth Arts Alliance Conference on August 25, 2006 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the Conference is dedicated to the arts, academic, and social change movement, focusing on enhancing educational opportunities and eliminating ethnic social barriers that have segregated many of our neighborhoods and contribute to conditions that deprive youth, in underserved communities, of opportunities to become better citizens; and
WHEREAS, Royal Tribe Music anticipates being host to over 500 participants and since multiple speakers are committed to making presentations and will be coming from different parts of the country, the Conference will be a national coalition of arts, education, business, and philanthropic organizations that will demonstrate and promote the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of youth and in the improvement of America's schools; and
WHEREAS, the Conference includes over 70 organizations that are national in scope and impact and also includes state and local partnerships focused on influencing education policies to promote quality arts education and encouraging youth to seek higher levels of education;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby recognizes and celebrates the Royal Tribe Music's 2006 National Youth Arts Alliance Conference. We call upon all the residents of Allegheny County to join us in supporting the efforts and activities of Royal Tribe Music which empower youth and improve the community. We applaud your dedication and commitment to serving the youth of our County which serves as an inspiration to this Council ...
