Proclamation honoring Richard J. Czapko for his career of service to the Bellevue Borough Police Department and recognizing his retirement.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed to have leaders who risk their lives to protect the well-being of those they serve; and

                     

WHEREAS, for 29 years, Richard J. Czapko proudly served within the Bellevue Borough Police Department, first as a police officer for 12 years, and then as a police sergeant for 17 years; and

 

WHEREAS, because of his outstanding abilities, Sergeant Czapko became the police firearms instructor and police chemical weapons officer and was assigned as the tactical officer for the department, handling all critical incidents involving the Bellevue Police; and

 

WHEREAS, Sergeant Czapko's impressive and expansive career allowed him to mentor and lead new officers to become exceptional protectors of the community; and

 

WHEREAS, Sergeant Czapko retired from the Bellevue Borough Police Department on June 12, 2009, but his extraordinary service to the department and to the community will leave an everlasting impression upon those he encountered and protected;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council hereby commends Richard J. Czapko for his many years of service to the Bellevue Borough Police Department.  He set a standard of excellence that serves as an inspiration to the members of this Council.  We wholeheartedly thank him for his demonstrated commitment to protecting the residents of Allegheny County.
