This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to you upon the momentous occasion of your 100th Birthday Celebration.  Born in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, March 30, 1907, Mabel is the daughter of the late Willard H. and Maud L. Weigel.  A graduate of California State College, Mabel taught elementary school for 47 years, beginning in 1925.  Along with her sister Francis, they formed a singing duo, the Weigel Sisters, and performed on a regular basis on several local radio stations including KDKA and WJAS in the late 1920's and 1930's.  Mabel continued to sing into her 80's with the Elizabeth Methodist Church Choir and other choral groups.  We join with family and friends in celebrating Ms. Weigel's 100^th birthday, and we honor her for her leadership, support and contributions to the community, serving as an inspiration to the residents of Allegheny County and to all.
