This Certificate of Recognition is presented to the Manchester Youth Development Center (MYDC) upon the momentous occasion of its 40^th anniversary.  MYDC, which was established in 1968 by the citizens of the Manchester community and Bidwell Presbyterian Church, along with the support of many other local organizations, has grown significantly over the past 40 years from its beginnings as a small outreach program.  At the present time, MYDC is a multi-faceted organization which serves more than 200 children each day through pre-school, after-school, and summer school programs, in addition to the Manchester Academic Charter School.  This year's anniversary celebration will include the first MYDC Alumni Reunion, chaired by Franco Harris, as well as fundraising events that will include a concert featuring Rodger Humphries and The RH Factor and Flo Wilson and The Old School Band.  Allegheny County Council hereby commends MYDC for its continued commitment to serving the youth of Allegheny County and we congratulate you upon this momentous occasion.
