Proclamation congratulating Ruth Pastore for being honored with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" by the Clairton Chamber of Commerce.

WHEREAS, throughout its history, Allegheny County has been blessed with exemplary leadership, with visionaries of great skill and determination, making invaluable contributions to our communities and our County; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Pastore is one such leader and community champion, remaining steadfast in her dedication, in the best tradition of American public service; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pastore is a graduate of the Local Government Academy and has been honored for her work as an Allegheny County Direct Care Worker, for her faithfulness to community and church by the First AME Church and by Carver Hall Senior Center as a “Philanthropist”;
WHEREAS, Ms. Pastore was instrumental in initiating several important programs in the City of Clairton including National Night Out, Light Up Night, Commercial Driving License, CPR-Citywide, Act 33/35 Certification for Crime Watch Members, Citizens' Police Academy, Junior Police Academy, Daniel Pastore Recreation Center, Clairton Crime Watch and the Charlie Check-First program; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pastore is the proud parent of six daughters and one son;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and congratulate Ms. Ruth Pastore for earning the Clairton Chamber of Commerce 2008 “Lifetime Achievement” Award. Your outstanding efforts and contributions to the community serve as an inspiration to us all.
