Proclamation honoring the career of Mr. Dale Colby and recognizing his retirement from the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Commission.
Body
WHEREAS, communities are truly blessed to have leaders that are charitable and selfless, and utilize their serviceable leadership abilities to work towards the betterment of the community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dale Colby fully embodies a great citizen who turned his gift of guidance to the community of Mt. Lebanon; he has worked long tenures in leadership and coaching positions with sports and recreation groups, and has led drug and alcohol prevention programs that help the youth of the community; Mr. Colby's work in these fields is well-respected and valued by the citizens of Mt. Lebanon; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Colby has worked tirelessly as an advocate for important regional issues that will better Mt. Lebanon; his expertise in parks and park activities have brought much improvement to the community, and we are grateful for his invaluable contributions; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Colby was elected to the five-member Mt. Lebanon Municipal Commission to fully serve the community that he has called home for over 30 years with his wife Jody, son Bryce and daughter Brienne; serving in a most exemplary, positive, generous and high-spirited manner that fully encompasses the goodness and beneficial guidance of a great elected representative, Mr. Colby has been essential to the betterment of Mt. Lebanon;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, thanks Mr. Dale Colby for his dedication and determination to providing his indelible services to Mt. Lebanon. His status as a gentleman, leader, educator and good neighbor is truly inspirational; he is a great public servant and a role model for all to follow. We thank Mr. Colby for his years of service to the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Commission, for he confers honor to Mt. Lebanon and to our County as a whole.
