WHEREAS, Ms. Judith Shelton Brown, of Upper St. Clair, passed away from this life on February 22, 2015 at the age of 71; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Brown was the mother of Natalie (Robert) Earley and Leslie Wood; grandmother of Erin and Sean Earley; and sister of Harold Shelton; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Brown served as a representative on the Pennsylvania G.O.P. State Committee and served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Republican Leadership Council, an organization that supervises elected officials and candidates; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Brown was active in Pittsburgh's political scene, and would appear dressed in patriotic garb, wearing a colorful hat with pins, ribbons and flags; some people affectionately called her the "hat lady"; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Brown was a champion of freedom and liberty and was active in the Tea Party movement, inspiring grassroots action and the following organizations: the Pennsylvania Republican Liberty Caucus, the Southwestern Chapter of the John Birch Society, Veterans and Patriots, Pennsylvania Firearms Owners Association, Firearms Owners Against Crime, Gun Rights Across Pennsylvania and the People Concerned for the Unborn Child;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby honor in memoriam Ms. Judith S. Brown and we offer our sincerest condolences to Ms. Brown's family and friends. Ms. Brown's legacy of working to restore America's greatness will be carried on for generations to come.
