Proclamation recognizing the North Side/North Shore Chamber of Commerce as they embark on their 20th Annual Community Night.

 

Body

WHEREAS, on June 11, 2008, the North Side/North Shore Chamber of Commerce (NSCC) will hold its 20th Annual Community Night; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Community Night will be held at PNC Park, where the Pittsburgh Pirates will face off against the Washington Nationals; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the event, which is open to the public, will include a tailgate party prior to the game, allowing local residents and business owners time to network and socialize in a fun and exciting environment; and

                     

WHEREAS, since 1897, NSCC has been creating, developing, and fostering a supportive climate that best serves its members; and

 

WHEREAS, by partnering with local businesses, NSCC has become a resource of services that help promote, maintain, and enhance business activities on Pittsburgh's North Side; and

 

WHEREAS, in addition to Community Night, NSCC also holds an annual Celebration in the Park, which, this year, will complement Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary celebration.  NSCC also participates in a multitude of local school board, civic development, neighborhood, and safety council meetings, among many others;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council congratulates the North Side/North Shore Chamber of Commerce as they embark on their 20th Annual Community Night.  Furthermore, we commend you for your commitment to providing area businesses with the resources to flourish, making Pittsburgh's North Side a better place to live.
