Proclamation declaring November 22nd as "Bethel Park High School Football Day" in Allegheny County in recognition of Bethel Park High School Football Team winning the WPIAL Championship game at Heinz Field.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the citizens of Allegheny County have always recognized our community's outstanding athletes, offering accolades for their perseverance and dedication to developing strength of body, mind and character; and

 

WHEREAS, in the 2008-2009 season, Bethel Park High School Football Team, the Black Hawks, finished with the best record in school history, 15-1; won the WPIAL AAAA Championship for the first time in school history, captured the Conference title as well, and earned runner-up in the PIAA AAAA Championship; and

 

WHEREAS, the WPIAL selected Bethel Park High School as one of five schools to receive the 2007-2008 Sportsmanship Award and the school received a banner at the 2008 WPIAL Football Championships at Heinz Field on November 22nd; and

 

WHEREAS, your teamwork and accomplishment is worthy of our County of Champions, earning the esteem of the citizens of Allegheny County;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby proclaim Saturday, November 22nd as “Bethel Park High School Football Day” in Allegheny County in recognition of Bethel Park High School Football Team winning the WPIAL Championship game at Heinz Field. This day will be duly recorded and historically be marked within the annuals of Allegheny County's records in tribute to an exceptional football team.
