WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed to have organizations and individuals, such as the White Oak Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Member Mr. Marvin Berk, who are dedicated to the community and enhance our quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Berk was instrumental in organizing plans for a new Farmer's Market in White Oak, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the White Oak Chamber of Commerce, the Borough of White Oak contributed matching funds, while Irwin Bank served as the Platinum Sponsor; and
WHEREAS, the market, located at the Rainbow Village Shopping Center at the corner of Rt. 48 and Lincoln Way, will offer fresh produce from seven different local farmers'; and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 2007, the White Oak Farmer's Market will hold its grand opening celebration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the White Oak Chamber of Commerce, the White Oak Borough, and Irwin Bank upon the momentous occasion of the grand opening of the White Oak Farmer's Market. We join in celebration with family and friends as the Borough of White Oak enjoys its newest development, serving as an inspiration to this Council and to all.
