Proclamation recognizing the retirement of Lee Albacker from the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Company.

WHEREAS, throughout the history of our storied county, great citizens have answered the challenging call of duty by placing their lives at risk to secure the safety and protection of their neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Aspinwall Volunteer Fire Chief Lee Albacker has served the Aspinwall Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years; and
WHEREAS, Chief Albacker joined the department as a volunteer when he was 18 years old and when the department fielded about 30 calls a year; and
WHEREAS, later in his career he served as the Assistant Fire Chief for six years before being appointed Fire Chief, which is the position he has served for the past 13 years, leading the department to the answer of the 400-plus calls it receives annually; and
WHEREAS, the longevity of Chief Albacker's service to his community and the veteran leadership that he has displayed as Fire Chief are indelible qualities that will live on in those who continue to serve at the Aspinwall Volunteer Fire Department;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the residents of the county, hereby honors Lee Albacker for his dedication to the Aspinwall community and the Aspinwall Volunteer Fire Department. Furthermore, we wish him luck in the future and hope he enjoys a pleasant and fulfilling retirement.
