An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office to accept a donation of personal property by the Pittsburgh campus of the International Academy of Design and Technology.
Body
Whereas, the Pittsburgh campus of the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) permanently closed on December 31, 2008; and
Whereas, IADT owns a substantial amount of office furniture for which it no longer has any use as a result of this permanent closure; and
Whereas, IADT has expressed a desire to donate property, comprised of chairs, filing cabinets, wooden desks and a conference table, to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office; and
Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2.j. of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County Council with the power to accept donations of personal property on behalf of the County;
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
Section 2. Acceptance of a Donation of Personal Property
County Council does hereby authorize the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office on behalf of Allegheny County to accept the donation of office furniture from the International Academy of Design and Technology's Pittsburgh campus, including but not limited to the furniture inventoried within attachment “A” to this Ordinance.
Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, which shall be in full force and effect.
Section 4. Repealer. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution....
