Proclamation recognizing and congratulating thirty-five law enforcement officers from the Turtle Creek Police Department for being awarded to the Honor Roll, and to the Turtle Creek Police Department as a whole for their dedication and commitment to upholding the law and protecting our citizens.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with organizations that are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhoods and the community as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Mr. James H. Davis, Mayor of the Borough of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania has made public safety a priority; and
WHEREAS, the Turtle Creek Police Department was constituted on September 12, 1892, operating with F.P. Trax as their first Police Officer; and
WHEREAS, approximately 100 police officers have served the residents of Turtle Creek from 1892 to 2005, with their largest force numbered at approximately twenty-five (25); and
WHEREAS, the current Police Department is led by Police Chief Dale W. Kraeer, who oversees fifteen (15) Sworn Officers and six (6) Dispatchers; and
WHEREAS, approximately thirty-five (35) Officers will be placed on Honor Roll for their outstanding contribution to law enforcement and public safety; and
WHEREAS, the Honor Roll Plaque will be dedicated to these thirty-five (35) individuals upholding the law;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby recognizes the individuals being named to the Honor Roll, and to the Turtle Creek Police Department as a whole, for their dedication to upholding the noble precepts of law enforcement and public protection for 118 years. Your long and distinguished service is deserving of the accolades of our citizenry and we commend all who have served. The Turtle Creek Police Department's commitment to Allegheny County and its citizens serves as an inspiration to us all.
