Motion of the Council of Allegheny County requesting that the administration add a pool pass for senior citizens to the park fee structure for the 2004 season which is similar to the current golf and ice skating permit and in line with the existing fee policy.

WHEREAS, policies exist within the Allegheny County Park system for senior citizens to participate in recreational activities such as golf and ice skating at reduced fees;
WHEREAS, senior citizens have been provided with such consideration in every venue with the exception of the Allegheny County pools; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Home Rule Charter, County Council has the power to establish fees and service charges.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY, that the administration is requested to add a pool pass for senior citizens to the park fee structure for the 2004 season which is similar to the current golf and ice skating permit and in line with the existing fee policy; and further, that Council look forward to working with the administration to provide the needed consideration for a senior citizen's pool pass program.
