TITLE
A Resolution of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, granting the Allegheny County Parks Department authority to apply for and, if awarded, accept grant funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Community Conservation Partnership Program.
BODY
WHEREAS, the Parks Department is building three Skate Board Parks at Boyce Park, North Park, and South Park; and
WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources makes available grants-in-aid for Community Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Parks Department desires to apply for and, if awarded, accept and implement $225,000.00 of grant funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be matched by $200,000.00 from the Allegheny County Capital Budget and $25,000 from the Municipal Waste Landfills Account.
Be it resolved by the Council of Allegheny County as follows:
SECTION I. AUTHORIZATION TO APPLY FOR, AND IF AWARDED, ACCEPT AND IMPLEMENT A $225,000.00 GRANT FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES'S COMMUNITY CONSERVATION PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM.
A. That the Council of Allegheny County hereby authorizes the Allegheny County Parks Department to apply for and, if awarded, accept $225,000.00 of grant funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Community Conservation Partnership Program to build three skate parks; and
B. County Council does hereby further authorize the County's Director of Parks or his authorized representative or delegate to take any and all actions necessary, subject to the approval of the Chief Executive, to carry out the authorization to apply for and accept the aforesaid grant.
SECTION 2 If any provision of this Resolution shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provision...
