Proclamation recognizing and honoring Three Rivers Youth on the occasion of its 125th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, Three Rivers Youth has served runaway, homeless, abused and neglected teenagers and their families since 1880; and
WHEREAS, Three Rivers Youth accomplishes this heroic task by offering a variety of services, including therapeutic group homes, emergency runaway and homeless shelters, a runaway and homeless outreach program, a transitional living program, a curfew and truancy center, and in-home family counseling; and
WHEREAS, Three Rivers Youth has made their resources available to all young people in the County who are affected by poverty, neglect, violence or abuse and, in the process, has assisted countless families in the region; and
WHEREAS, Three Rivers Youth celebrates its 125th Anniversary on April 22, 2005;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Three Rivers Youth for its dedication to the youth of Allegheny County and its impact on this community and its citizens. Throughout its history, Three Rivers Youth has provided an abundance of that most precious of resources for any young person: hope for the future. This commitment to the dignity and safety of Allegheny County's young residents is truly worthy of Council's highest commendation and our heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of your 125th Anniversary.
