Proclamation recognizing and commending Bethel Park Firefighters Dan Moore, Robert Clark, and Jeff Ferencic for their heroic efforts in successfully rescuing an occupant from a house fire which occurred on April 18, 2005 on Tracy Drive in Bethel Park.

WHEREAS, on April 18, 2005, the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to a call indicating that a ranch home on Tracy Drive was on fire and that an individual was still inside the home; and
WHEREAS, upon arriving at the scene, Fire Department personnel were confronted with dense smoke billowing from the home; and
WHEREAS, the first engine on the scene was manned by firefighters Dan Moore, Robert Clark, and Jeff Ferencic; and
WHEREAS, firefighters Moore, Clark and Ferencic entered the burning home at considerable risk to themselves, eventually locating the incapacitated occupant of the home with thermal imaging equipment and moving him to safety; and
WHEREAS, the actions of firefighters Moore, Clark and Ferencic exhibited exceptional bravery and professionalism in the best tradition of the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Department, while each man simultaneously personified selflessness, commitment, and the highest of humanitarian ideals;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Dan Moore, Robert Clark and Jeff Ferencic for their dedication to their community and its citizens; their skill in successfully rescuing the occupant of the home is only surpassed by their devotion to preserving human life. Through their respective lifetimes of dedication and professionalism, they have improved the lives of countless individuals and families, and literally saved a life in this case. For these achievements, Council bestows its highest commendation upon firefighters Moore, Clark and Ferencic and its sincerest gratitude for their willingness to provide this vital service to our community.
