TITLE
An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, amending Part 2, Article 215, § 5-215.02 of the Administrative Code to provide that, unless otherwise required by law, all appointments to County agencies expire at the end of the appointee's term.
BODY
WHEREAS, § 5-215.01 of the Administrative Code recognizes twenty agencies as being required by law, regulation, or as a requirement for receipt of funds in Allegheny County, including the Prison Board, Air Pollution Control Advisory Committee, Air Pollution Hearing Board, Regional Asset District, Board of Health, Children Youth & Families Advisory Board, Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board, Community College, Conservation District Board, Drug & Alcohol Planning Council, Local Emergency Planning Committee, Mental Health/Mental Retardation Advisory Board, Plumbing Advisory Board, Self-Insurance Board, Senior Companion Program Advisory Council, Vacant Property Review Committee, Area Agency on Aging/Adult Services Advisory Board, Private Industry Council, Community Services Advisory Council, and Head Start Parents Advisory Council; and

WHEREAS, Article 215 addresses appointments and the operation of the agencies, but does not address terms of appointments;

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

SECTION 1.

Article 215, § 5-215.02 of the Administrative Code is amended as follows:

§ 5-215.02. Operation of County agencies.

Appointments to the County agencies listed in § 5-215.01 of this chapter shall be made in accordance with the provisions set forth in applicable federal or state laws or regulations governing each agency. If such laws or regulations do not address an appointee's term, any appointment shall expire at the end of the appointee's term. The operations of the County agencies listed in § 5-215.01 of this chapter shall be conducted in accordance with requirements set forth in applicable federal or state laws or regulations ...
