Proclamation recognizing and commending Pittsburgh Community Services, Incorporated on the occasion of its 22nd Anniversary.

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Community Services, Incorporated has strived to reduce the effects of poverty by committing resources to residents and individuals who are at-risk since 1983; and
WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Community Services accomplishes this heroic task by offering a variety of services to youth, families and seniors through programs such as the Community Action Center, Community Acton Learning Center, Neighborhood Safety Program, Project Life Line, and the Supported Work Program; and
WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Community Services has made their resources available to all people in the County who are at-risk for the effects of poverty and, in the process, has assisted countless families in the region; and
WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Community Services celebrates its 22nd Anniversary in June 2005;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Pittsburgh Community Services, Incorporated for its dedication to those affected by poverty in Allegheny County and for its impact on this community and its citizens. Throughout its history, Pittsburgh Community Services has provided an abundance of that most precious of resources for any individual: hope for the future. This commitment to the dignity and safety of Allegheny County's residents is truly worthy of Council's highest commendation and our heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of your 22nd Anniversary.
