This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to Mr. Philip W. Purpura upon the momentous occasion of your 106th Birthday Celebration.  Mr. Purpura was born on June 26, 1901.  While Mr. Purpura was born and raised in the United States, both of his parents came from Italy.  Mr. Purpura grew up in the Strip District area of Pittsburgh and worked as a produce salesman his entire life.  Mr. Purpura is a founder of the St. Simon and Jude Parish.   He has been a resident of Scott Township for over 55 years and he remains active by taking care of his home. We join with family and friends in celebrating Mr. Purpura's 106th birthday, serving as an inspiration to the residents of Allegheny County and to all.
