Proclamation celebrating Community Day in Brighton Heights.

WHEREAS, the first annual Brighton Heights Community Day will be held on July 19, 2008 at the Brighton Heights Lutheran Church; and
WHEREAS, the event, which will be held from 12-4 p.m., is aimed at bringing the community together for an afternoon of learning, fun, and fellowship; and
WHEREAS, information about Brighton Heights Lutheran Church will be available at the event, as well as information about several community-based programs, including Narcotics Anonymous, Meals on Wheels, and Cub Scouts; and
WHEREAS, the event will also include free food and beverages and games for children, including a dime pitch, from which all proceeds will benefit North Side Common Ministries; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council joins with the residents of Brighton Heights in celebrating the first annual Brighton Heights Community Day. Furthermore, we thank all of the individuals involved in organizing this event for providing the residents of Brighton Heights with the opportunity to develop and strengthen their bonds with their fellow community members.
