Throughout the publication's impressive existence, it has served as the most reliable source of information for the Mon Valley community, bringing forth to the people important news in a familiar and dependable voice. The Daily News has been bought and sold by many different parties, but it continued to cover the issues that shaped the communities it served regardless of its ownership. The newspaper's survival in a time when many print publications are folding is to be commended and widely praised. It is a prime example of how to extend the longevity of a community business.
