Proclamation congratulating The Honorable Lavina F. Kerklo upon the occasion of her retirement after 32 years of service as a Council Member of Liberty Borough.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; individuals such as Ms. Lavina F. Kerklo, who has placed her stamp of character and hard work throughout the community, as both a public servant and strong leader; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Kerklo is retiring from the Borough of Liberty after serving 32 years as a Council Member; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Kerklo was officially sworn in as a Liberty Borough Councilwoman in January 1982; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure on council, Ms. Kerklo served on a variety of committees and acted always in the best interests of the constituents of Liberty Borough; and
WHEREAS, in December 2013, Ms. Kerklo resigned from Liberty Borough Council to take a seat on the South Allegheny School District Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate The Honorable Lavina F. Kerklo upon the occasion of her retirement from the Borough of Liberty, and we thank her for her genuine and unwavering public service. Furthermore, we join her family and friends in celebrating this momentous occasion, and we wish Ms. Kerklo all the best in her new role and future endeavors.
