This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to Ms. Ciara Scanlon Crossey in honor of being named the 2014 Miss Smiling Irish Eyes of Pittsburgh. Ms. Scanlon Crossey is currently enrolled at John Carroll University where she is deeply involved working as a staff writer for the campus newspaper, the John Carroll News, and as a marketing communications coordinator for John Carroll Respect Life. Further, she is the founder of the John Carroll University Chapter of Students with Diabetes. She is a graduate of Bishop Canevin High School, graduating in the Top 10 of her class, as well as the recipient of the Leadership Scholarship at John Carroll University, and an active volunteer at her church, the St. Philip Parish, since 2005. Ms. Scanlon Crossey exhibits distinguished Irish qualities and displays her pride for her Irish heritage by participating in Pittsburgh's vibrant Irish community. By being crowned Miss Smiling Irish Eyes, Ms. Scanlon Crossey is to reign over Pittsburgh's 2014 St. Patrick's Day Parade. We congratulate her on this fine honor and wish her the best of luck in all of her future endeavors.
