Proclamation, in recognition of Women's History Month, honoring the Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose, Senior Judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, each year in the United States, the month of March is designated as Women's History Month so that the great history of American women may be properly celebrated and embraced; and
WHEREAS, the theme of the 2014 Women's History Month is Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment; and
WHEREAS, the Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose has proven herself to be a woman of character, courage, and commitment, made evident by her actions in her everyday life, by her courageousness in serving as the first female Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and by her commitment to help advance women through her advocacy and participation in numerous professional organizations; and
WHEREAS, Allegheny County is proud to honor Judge Ambrose for her accomplishments in the practice of law and in the administration of justice, and for her unparalleled efforts to help secure gender equality on the bench and in courtrooms across the United States;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby thank and commend the Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose for her countless contributions to her profession, to our County, and, most importantly, to the women of our region by proving that there truly are no limits to what can be accomplished through hard work, dedication and belief in yourself.
