Proclamation recognizing the Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience (PULSE) and naming April 4, 2014 as "PULSE Day" in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, since 1994, the Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience, PULSE, has cultivated a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh; and
 
WHEREAS, PULSE invites talented university graduates to partner with nonprofits for a year of service and leadership; and
 
WHEREAS, over the last twenty years, PULSE has invited approximately 175 young adults to partner with more than 100 nonprofit organizations in Allegheny County, contributing some 300,000 hours of service to the County and its residents; and
 
WHEREAS, PULSE's unique model, which focuses on participants, nonprofit partners and city neighborhoods, has created lasting change in the lives of thousands of individuals and organizations; and
 
WHEREAS, on Friday, April 4th, 2014, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Union Project, PULSEations "Big Top" event, featuring cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, silent auction, games, friends and fun, will benefit the work of PULSE;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby declare April 4, 2014 as "PULSEations Day" in Allegheny County.
