Authorizing Allegheny County Council to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to the, Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. §10101 et seq. to afford interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed amendment to the “Transportation Element” of Allegheny Places, the County’s Comprehensive Plan. Pursuant to Council’s Rules, the Council President shall appoint a Presiding Officer for the hearing.
The hearing will allow opportunity for comments by the general public to express their views on the proposed amendment. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance at least 24 hours before the scheduled beginning of the hearing, and in accordance with all applicable rules governing public comment at Council meetings.
County Council advertised its intention to hold a public hearing to inform and to obtain public comment on the proposed adoption of the updated transportation element by publication of notice once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation pursuant to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.
The hearing shall be scheduled to occur on April 8, 2014 at 4:00 PM in the 4th Floor Gold Room of the Allegheny County Court House, 436 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219. In accordance with Council’s Rules, Council Members Amanda Green Hawkins, Michael Finnerty, and Council President DeFazio have committed to attend the hearing. It shall be at the discretion of the President whether to provide for security for the public hearing and to determine if transcription of the testimony given is appropriate.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
