Proclamation commending Get Involved!, Inc. and naming March 25, 2014 as "Pittsburgh Service Summit Day" in Allegheny County.
Body...
WHEREAS, Get Involved!, Inc. provides leadership programs that develop, educate, and engage students and young professionals in order to encourage them to become active assets to their communities; and
WHEREAS, on March 25, 2014, the Fifth Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit will take place at Carlow University and will give recognition to outstanding activists and individuals for their positive contributions to their community. The event, which is open to the public, will also feature a variety of local vendors who will be available to educate attendees about ways they can become more civically involved; and
WHEREAS, this year's honorees include the following meritorious individuals:
MAN OF THE YEAR: Todd Owens
WOMAN OF THE YEAR: Candi Castleberry-Singleton
MALE EMERGING LEADER: Mike Church
FEMALE EMERGING LEADER: Meghan Dillie
DR. TOM BAKER COMMUNITY LEADER: Commander Scott Schubert
PATTY AWARD FOR CHILD ADVOCACY: Stephanie Tecza

Wester;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of Allegheny County does hereby commend Get Involved!, Inc., for their commitment to fostering the development of young leaders and for hosting the 5th Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit to honor the achievements of individuals from the region whose work has made a difference in their communities. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby declare March 25, 2014 as "Pittsburgh Service Summit Day" in Allegheny County.
