Proclamation honoring Judge Robert E. Colville for receiving Amen Corner's Lifetime Achievement Award.

WHEREAS, the Honorable Robert E. Colville dutifully and honorably served as a Senior Judge on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania from March 20, 2006 through 2013; and
 
      WHEREAS, after graduating from North Catholic High School in 1953, Judge Colville joined the United States Marine Corps and upon discharge attended Duquesne University, obtaining his bachelor's degree in 1963. From 1959 to 1963, he was teacher and head coach of the North Catholic High School football team. He later attended Duquesne University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1969; and
 
      WHEREAS, Judge Colville served the City of Pittsburgh for fifteen years as a Patrolman (1961-1969), Homicide Detective (1969-1971) and Chief of Police (1971-1975); and
 
WHEREAS, for 21 years (1976-1997), Judge Colville served as the District Attorney of Allegheny County, developing a reputation for having one of the best organized and effective DA offices in the Commonwealth; and
 
WHEREAS, from 1998 until his appointment by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as a Senior Judge to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in 2006, Judge Colville served as a Judge of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas; and
WHEREAS, Judge Colville is a member of the distinguished Duquesne University Century Club and received the "Outstanding Law Alumnus" Award from the Duquesne University Law Alumni Association;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby commend the Honorable Robert E. Colville for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from Amen Corner during the group's 54th Annual Judicial Reception.
