Proclamation recognizing Women Rock, scheduled for April 24, 2014 at Grey Box Theatre to celebrate the women of Dress for Success Pittsburgh and Lawrenceville for their contributions to the community.

WHEREAS, Dress for Success Pittsburgh is a branch of Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life; and
WHEREAS, Dress for Success Pittsburgh programs focus on providing a continuum of support and opportunities for low income women to compete, advance and support themselves and their families; and
WHEREAS, Dress for Success Pittsburgh offers services five days a week in Allegheny, Fayette and Washington counties. Their partners include Bidwell Training Center, New Choices/New Options, Renewal, Inc., the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County; and
WHEREAS, on April 24, 2014 at the Grey Box Theatre in Lawrenceville, "Women Rock" will celebrate the women of Lawrenceville and Dress for Success Pittsburgh for their efforts to create a strong and vibrant community. The event will feature music, dining, a 50/50 raffle and auction baskets to support the mission of Dress for Success Pittsburgh;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and honor the women of Dress for Success Pittsburgh and Lawrenceville for their contributions and commitment to the women of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
