Proclamation congratulating the Neil Armstrong Middle School and George Washington Elementary School of the Bethel Park School District for earning the 2012-2013 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Academics.

WHEREAS, the Neil Armstrong Middle School, of the Bethel Park School District, earned the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Academics for the 2012-2013 school year; and
WHEREAS, based on the 2012-2013 School Performance Profile, Neil Armstrong Middle School attained a score of 93.2 percent, the second highest score in the district and among all other Allegheny County public schools (George Washington Elementary School, of the Bethel Park School District, placed the highest); and
WHEREAS, the School Performance Profile provides parents, taxpayers and educators with access to a comprehensive, straight-forward and user-friendly resource that provides detailed information about the academic performance of all public schools; and
WHEREAS, we applaud the Bethel Park School District for its excellent educational programs, quality teachers, support staff, and an administrative team that is dedicated to raising student achievement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the Neil Armstrong Middle School for earning the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Academics for the 2012-2013 school year. The school’s leadership and commitment to excellence serves as an inspiration to us all.
