Pulling Bill No. 8230-14, amending Article II of the Rules of Council for Allegheny County Council through the creation of a new Section F.5., in order to encourage committee meeting participation by adjusting the rule governing quorums at committee meetings, from committee for an immediate and final vote.
WHEREAS, Bill No. 8230-14 was introduced in a Regular Meeting of Council on April 22, 2014 and referred to the Committee on Government Reform; and
WHEREAS, Bill No. 8230-14 has not yet been recommended to full Council for a final vote even though Section 5-311.04 (B) of the Allegheny County Administrative Code requires a vote within 90 days of submittal; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of Allegheny County Council, Article IV, Section B, allow for bills to be pulled from committee by the vote of a two-thirds majority of the seated Members of Council if such motion is made less than sixty (60) days from the date of the first reading of the bill;
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
That this Council hereby pulls Bill No. 8230-14 from the Committee on Government Reform, and authorizes an immediate final vote on the bill.
