Proclamation declaring Sunday, January 18, 2015 as "AUTISM Frostbite 5K Day" in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, AUTISM Frostbite 5K is an annual event bringing the community together to support autism awareness, in benefit of Autism Connection of Pennsylvania and newly founded, Team Cassie Foundation; and
WHEREAS, since 1996, Autism Connection of PA has served tens of thousands of Pennsylvania families confronted with the challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as the professionals who support them; and
WHEREAS, Autism Connection of PA envisions a community where children, adolescents, and adults with ASD achieve their maximum potential in social, educational, and vocational environments; and
WHEREAS, the Team Cassie Fund is a fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation created to benefit the local special needs community and its mission is to work to enrich the quality of life of the special needs community and their families; and
WHEREAS, Mr. T.J. Burke, Director of Officers Down 5K Foundation and Positive Movementz Promotions organizes the Autism Frostbite 5K and donates the funds raised to the Bruno Family and Team Cassie;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council does hereby declare Sunday, January 18, 2015 "AUTISM Frostbite 5K Day" in Allegheny County.
