An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing an Agreement between the County of Allegheny and Family Links, Inc. for leasing of a house and surrounding property located in Boyce Park.

WHEREAS, The County of Allegheny is owner of a house in Boyce Park which has been occupied by Family Links for several years,

WHEREAS, Family Links, Inc. and the County of Allegheny wish to enter into a formal Agreement for continued use of said property.

WHEREAS, The County deems it in the County’s best interest for Family Links, Inc. to continue to offer this valuable community service which has offered help, education and support to many families.

WHEREAS, by continuing this lease, the County enjoys enhanced community services and public relations.

WHEREAS, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real property.

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble

The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference in their entirety herein.

SECTION 2. Authorization of a lease for the use of County Real Property

A. Allegheny County Council hereby approves entering into a formal Agreement with Family Links, Inc. for the continued use of the house and surrounding property located at 720 Center Road, Plum Borough.

B. County hereby acknowledges the Agreement for the period January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017, with the County retaining the sole option to extend the Agreement for two (2) additional years, subject to the terms and conditions as more fully outlined in the Agreement.

C. The proper officers of the County are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the lease of the property.
