Proclamation honoring the Jefferson Hills Volunteer Fire Company 885 and the Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance Association for saving a resident's life on October 2, 2014.

WHEREAS, on January 12, 2015, Borough of Jefferson Hills Mayor Janice Cmar presented proclamations honoring personnel from the Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance Association and Jefferson Hills Volunteer Fire Company 885 for "invaluable and irreplaceable service to the residents of the Borough of Jefferson Hills"; and
WHEREAS, on October 2, 2014, the Ambulance Association and Fire Company personnel responded to an emergency call for assistance at a home in the Andrew Acres area for a man suffering from cardiac arrest; and
WHEREAS, the responding personnel provided life saving measures to include CPR defibrillation and airway management resulting in the patient being successfully resuscitated; and
WHEREAS, the patient was transported to Jefferson Hospital and was determined to have had a heart attack; he was released a few days later; and
WHEREAS, we commend Jefferson Hills 885 Area Volunteer Fire Co. Captain Sean Dornin, firefighter Dustin Wichelman, junior firefighters Billy Weeks and Ben Rosborough, along with Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance Association emergency medical technician Brenda Miller and paramedic Michael Horgos for saving this man's life;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby join with the Borough of Jefferson Hills in commending the emergency responders which saved a resident's life on October 2, 2014. FURTHERMORE, this Council honors the Jefferson Hills VFC 885 and the Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance Association for their dedication to protecting the residents of Jefferson Hills.
