This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Nicholas Andrew Ruffing in recognition of his attainment of the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, scouting's most distinguished honor. This Council commends Mr. Ruffing's diligence and skill: two traits he has displayed throughout his scouting career, his growth as a troop leader, and his dedication to our community. For his Eagle Scout service project, Mr. Ruffing installed thirteen permanent wooden mile markers along six miles of the Mon Yough Trail in Elizabeth Township. The trail is part of the Great Allegheny Passage between Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Mr. Ruffing's project benefitted the runners and volunteers that participate in the Mon/Yough Trail Council's Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk fundraisers. Throughout his participation in the Boy Scouts, Mr. Ruffing has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. He serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
