Proclamation commending Get Involved!, Inc. and naming March 25, 2015 as “Get Involved! Service Summit Day” in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, Get Involved!, Inc., was founded in 2011 by Tom Baker to provide programs that develop, educate, and engage students and young professionals in order to encourage them to become active assets to their communities; and
WHEREAS, on March 25, 2015, the 6th Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit will take place at Carlow University and will give recognition to outstanding activists and individuals for their positive contributions to their community. The event, which is open to the public, will also feature a variety of local vendors who will be available to educate attendees about ways they can become more civically involved. Evan Frazier, Dina Clark and The Honorable Bill Peduto will be featured as keynote speakers; and
WHEREAS, this year’s honorees include the following meritorious individuals:

FEMALE EMERGING LEADER Brittany Reno

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council does hereby commend Get Involved!, Inc., for their commitment to fostering the development of young leaders into civically active community assets, and for hosting the 6th Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit to honor the achievements of 29 individuals from the region whose work has made a difference in their communities....
