Proclamation honoring Senior Pastor Gary Mitrik, founder of the Greater Works Outreach Bible School, for his 40 years of dedicated service to the community.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have been blessed with exemplary leadership throughout the history of our great nation, with visionaries of great knowledge and determination making invaluable contributions to our communities, our country and the world; and
WHEREAS, Senior Pastor Gary Mitrik joined the ministry of Sheepfold Ministries on Pittsburgh's North Side in 1973 and became Pastor in 1978; and
WHEREAS, in June 1981, Pastor Mitrik acquired a 56-acre, two building campus that included a large auditorium, classrooms and dormitories on College Park Drive in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and began the ministry of Greater Works Outreach; and
WHEREAS, in the early years of Greater Works Outreach, Pastor Mitrik opened a Bible School and private K-12 school; At the same time, he hosted a television ministry show and seminars that served to strengthen and empower all people in our society; and
WHEREAS, since its inception, the Greater Works Outreach Bible School has trained hundreds of ministers, pastors, missionaries, and people who are involved in their church's outreach ministries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby offer its sincere congratulations and thanks to Senior Pastor Gary Mitrik for his 40 years of dedicated service and commitment to enriching the lives of countless individuals, serving as an inspiration to us all.
