MOTION OF THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY
 
Pulling Bill No.8228-14, a Resolution of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, urging the Pennsylvania General Assembly to enact a with all deliberate speed an act authorizing the governing bodies of counties of the second class to provide by ordinance for the implementation of tax provisions to allow for a property tax freeze for qualifying senior citizens, from committee for an immediate and final vote.
 
      WHEREAS, Bill No. 8228-14 was introduced in a Regular Meeting of Council on April 22nd, 2014 and referred to the Committee on Government Reform; and
 
      WHEREAS, Bill No. 8228-14 has not yet been recommended to full Council for a final vote even though Section 5-311.04 (B) of the Allegheny County Administrative Code requires a vote within 90 days of submittal; and
 
      WHEREAS, the Rules of Allegheny County Council, Article IV, Section B, allow for bills to be pulled from committee by the vote of a simple majority of the seated Members of Council if such motion is made more than sixty (60) days from the date of the first reading of the bill;
 
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
 
That this Council hereby pulls Bill No. 8228-14 from the Committee on Government Reform, and authorizes an immediate final vote on the bill.
