Proclamation recognizing The Midwife Center for Birth and Women's Health and declaring Saturday, April 25, 2015 as "Let Them Eat Cake Day" in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, on April 25, 2015, The Midwife Center for Birth and Women's Health will celebrate its 10th anniversary fundraiser party and cake decorating contest, "Let Them Eat Cake, Lights, Camera, Cake!" at the Pittsburgh Opera in the Strip District; and
WHEREAS, Let Them Eat Cake will feature amazing movie-inspired cakes, wine & beer, refreshments, entertainment, a show-stopping silent auction, and more; and
WHEREAS, The Midwife Center for Birth and Women's Health is southwestern Pennsylvania's only licensed and accredited freestanding birth center, offering primary gynecological care, prenatal care and childbirth in a warm and supportive birth center; and
WHEREAS, with funds raised from the Let Them Eat Cake party, The Midwife Center can provide prenatal and gynecological care to uninsured and underinsured women;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Allegheny County Council does hereby declare April 25, 2015 as "Let Them Eat Cake Day" in Allegheny County.
