This Certificate of Recognition is presented to Mrs. Vervaine E. "Vickie" Mains of White Oak, Pennsylvania upon the momentous occasion of her 90th birthday. Vervaine Blamick was born on May 18, 1925; the daughter of the late Charles James and Hilda M. Johnson Blamick, she had three brothers, Robert, Joseph and Wesley, and three sisters, the late Jeannette, Kathryn and Elveria. Vervaine married the late Walter G. Mains in 1946. Mr. Mains was a World War II Army veteran and served as a private first class in the Pacific Theatre. He was a retired pipefitter at the former National Works of U.S. Steel. Mrs. Mains served as a secretary during WWII and was a homemaker. Together the couple had a son, Daryl G. Mains, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Cathy L. Jaskolski, of Scottsboro, Alabama, and Saundra R. Grimsley, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; six grandchildren, Christina Jaskolski Geiger, Brian Grimsley, Mark Grimsley, Elizabeth Mains (Jason) Rigby, Lindsay Mains (Radie) Kreutzer and Daryl Mains Jr.; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mains is a member of Park Baptist Church in McKeesport. We honor Mrs. Mains for her longevity, which can be attributed to her positive outlook on life, and we wish her and her family all the best as she celebrates her 90th birthday.
