MOTION OF THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY
Authorizing the Council of Allegheny County to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on March 31, 2015, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Allegheny County Courthouse Gold Room, located at 436 Grant Street in Pittsburgh, PA.
The primary purpose of this hearing is to allow the opportunity for public comment regarding violence in Allegheny County, how the County is currently responding to community violence, as well as a discussion of possible additional remedies which could be realized through the funding of new County programs.
Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings. Written testimony will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. on April 6, 2015.
Council shall comply with the public notice requirements of Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council. Council Members Bill Robinson, Amanda Green Hawkins and Sue Means have made commitments to attend the hearing.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to preside over the hearing or appoint a presiding officer and to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearing and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
Council is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on March 31, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Allegheny County Courthouse Gold Room, located on the Fourth Floor, 436 Grant Street in Pittsburgh, PA.
All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
