Proclamation congratulating Chloe and Courtney Mardorf for winning Gold Medals in Doubles Bowling in the 2015 Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games.

WHEREAS, on Friday, June 5, 2015, twin sisters, Chloe and Courtney Mardorf of the Town of McCandless, won Gold Medals in Doubles Bowling in the 46th annual Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games held at Penn State University in State College; and
WHEREAS, Chloe and Courtney have been bowling since they were young and bowl every week at Perry Lanes with the North Stars Bowling League; and
WHEREAS, in addition to competing as a team in bowling, the sisters work three days per week at the UPMC Passavant McCandless campus, and they serve as volunteers for Vincentian Home and Animal Friends; and
WHEREAS, Chloe and Courtney will be participating in the Miss 22 Quties Special Needs Beauty Pageant on August 2, 2015, an event which strives to build physical, emotional, and spiritual confidence in youth and young adults with special needs;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate Chloe Mardorf and Courtney Mardorf for winning Gold Medals in Doubles Bowling at the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games, and we thank each of you for serving as advocates for persons with disabilities by breaking down barriers, increasing public awareness and changing attitudes by focusing on abilities.
